The festival features creations by famous chefs and restaurants, such as Bar do Momo, BistrOgro, Pedro de Artagão / Irajá and Tasquinha do Portuga, as well as concerts by Blitz, Maria Rita, Xande de Pilares, among other attractions!

World Press Photo Exhibition 2024
After 6 years, the traveling World Press Photo Exhibition is back in Brazil and will be in Rio de Janeiro until August.
The show brings together a selection of the world’s best photojournalism and documentary photography and is an invitation for visitors to step outside the news cycle and take a deeper look at prominent and neglected stories.

With a text by Alessandro Marson, the play ‘Um só’ opens on August 3 at Estúdio FilmIn in Botafogo.
The play is directed by Viétia Zangrandi and delves into the universe of actors at the start of their careers, exposing their aspirations and anxieties. In the cast, actors Eduardo Melo, Felipe Hintze and Felipe Silcler play three young people about to audition to star in a feature film.

Theatro Municipal
The Municipal Theater in Rio de Janeiro is one of the most important concert halls in the country, but many locals and tourists have never visited this iconic venue.

II Flávio Migliaccio Short Film Festival
Rio’s Museum of Modern Art is temporarily closed, but MAM’s Cinematheque is in full swing and is hosting the 2nd Flávio Migliaccio Short Film Festival this month.
Over two days, 11 films selected by the festival’s jury (six fiction and five documentaries) will be screened among the 105 works received from all over Brazil, with different themes. Admission is free, but tickets must be obtained from the website.

Capoeira class for beginners
Who says you have to turn the year around to learn something new? So take advantage of the start of the new month to start that physical activity you’ve been putting off for the whole first semester!

Music at the Museum
Another edition of Music at the Museum in Rio de Janeiro, with free performances in different cultural venues around the city.
In August, the theme is Pianos, Voices and Tributes, with great national and international names playing a varied and very special repertoire. The full program can be found on the event’s official website.
Neurotic
Actress Flávia Reis divides herself between 11 women in the comic show ‘Neurótica’, on show every Saturday in August.
The plot is led by a therapist who, in a completely mistaken lecture on neuroses, introduces types such as the woman who loses her own car in the parking lot, the pessimistic elderly woman who predicts the end of the world by eating a tomato with pesticides or “Fernanda”, the ceremonialist who messes up by answering several cell phones at the same time.
