A musical comedy that revisits the history of Rio de Janeiro in a humorous and interactive way. This is the proposal of the show “Sorrio Maravilha, “ which has been offering free performances since 2010 in cultural spaces throughout the city.
This weekend, performances will take place at the Maré Museum and the Samba Museum, and we’ll tell you all the details about this free event!
The show traces the history of Rio, from its founding to the present day

The “Sorrio Maravilha” project was created in 2010 by a group of female artists from the North Zone, with the aim of reflecting on identity, citizenship, and cultural memory.
Thus, combining popular theater, live music, and storytelling, the show traces the history of the city from its founding to the present day. It presents historical figures, cultural manifestations, and the elements that helped build Rio as a city and national symbol.
The coolest thing is that, over the years, the project has accompanied the social, political, and cultural transformations of the city, going through remarkable momentssuch as the World Cup, the Olympics, and changes in the urban and symbolic landscape of Rio.
Another important point is that “Sorrio Maravilha” now occupies museums, with a commitment to democratizing access to culture, valuing Rio de Janeiro’s cultural heritage, strengthening local museums, and increasing the visibility of artistic production in the periphery.
