One of Rio de Janeiro’s most charming neighborhoods is celebrating its 244th birthday! That’s why the streets of Santa Teresa will be taken over by the Primavera de Teresa event, with various artistic, gastronomic and musical attractions over five days of festivities, from October 11 to 15. Check out the program!
Primavera de Teresa will feature Bonde Musical and more shows in the neighborhood

It’s impossible to talk about Santa Teresa and not remember the cable car, isn’t it? In Primavera de Teresa, the neighborhood’s most iconic symbol will be even more lively!
That’s because the Bonde Musical project will be on board, promoting shows inside the cable car. See the itinerary:
- Saturday (11/10), from 4pm: Bagaceira Frevo Orquestra – Departure from Estação Carioca to Largo das Neves, returning for a big musical stop at the Laurinda Santos Lobo Cultural Center.
- Sunday (12/10), from 4pm: Fanfarra Flores de Santa – Departure from Estação Carioca, with a strategic stop on the Vista Alegre sidewalk. The procession continues through Esquina de Santa, Agô, Nega Tereza and ends with a party at the Laurinda Santos Lobo Cultural Center.
There will also be some concerts in different restaurants and establishments in the neighborhood.
Children also have fun at Primavera de Teresa

As this Sunday is also Children’s Day, the Primavera de Teresa program is full of attractions for children to have lots of fun!
These include workshops, a children’s parade, concerts, storytelling and much more at various points throughout Santa Teresa, including restaurants and parks.
Gastronomic circuit, historical tour and mass are part of the festivities

Speaking of restaurants, Primavera de Teresa also features a Gastronomic Circuit, with a special menu at various establishments in the neighborhood.
In addition, the Hotel Santa Teresa Rio de Janeiro – MGallery Collection will be promoting a guided tour of the streets around the hotel, including graffiti, possible ateliers, the Laurinda Cultural Center and the Benjamin Constant Museum. The tour will take place on October 12, starting at 10am.
Finally, there will be a procession and mass on the Day of Our Lady of Aparecida and also a mass and party to celebrate the Day of Saint Teresa of Jesus, the neighborhood’s patron saint.
