1 — Museum of Tomorrow
Designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, the Museum of Tomorrow opened in 2015 and is already a cultural symbol of Rio. It’s impossible not to be impressed by this architectural gem!
The museum offers a diverse program combining permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as educational and cultural activities, workshops and candlelight concerts.

2 — Museum of Modern Art
MAM Rio is a reference for art and culture in Rio de Janeiro, but also throughout Brazil.

3 — National Historical Museum
Created in 1922, this is one of the most important museums in Brazil and tells the story of the country’s history. Its collection has more than 280,000 items, including the largest numismatic collection in Latin America!
The MHN also has galleries for long-term and temporary exhibitions, a store selling souvenirs and publications, as well as a library specializing in Brazilian History, Art History, Museology and Fashion.

4 — Museum of the Republic
This is another of Rio de Janeiro’s museums that you should visit. This is because it is housed in the Catete Palace, which was the seat of the Presidency of the Republic between 1897 and 1960.
Visiting this museum is synonymous with traveling back in time. What’s more, the space has fantastic gardens, with lots of cool events on weekends!
