The month of November is packed with holidays and plenty of amazing things to do in Rio de Janeiro. And for those who enjoy free cultural activities, our tip is to visit the Museum of Tomorrow. That’s because, throughout the month, the museum will offer free admission on three days. We’ll tell you more here!
The Museum of Tomorrow welcomed 9,000 visitors during the October holiday
In October, on the Our Lady of Aparecida holiday, the Museum of Tomorrow offered free admission and welcomed about 9,000 visitors!
According to the institution’s data, this figure represents a 70.6% increase compared to the same date in 2025 and more than double the museum’s daily average attendance in 2026, which was 4,047 people. The increase also occurred on the September 7 holiday, when admission was also free, and the museum welcomed 8,060 visitors.
The survey conducted on both dates also revealed that 78% of the visitors were tourists from other states, countries, or municipalities within Rio de Janeiro state.
In addition, the number of families with children and teenagers also increased, rising from 31.6% in 2025 to 36.6% in 2026. The data underscores the initiative’s success in expanding access to culture and attracting new audiences to museums.
Free admission to the Museum of Tomorrow in November
According to Cristiano Vasconcelos, director of the Museum of Tomorrow, “the results of the free admission holidays reinforce the Museum of Tomorrow’s role as a space for knowledge and social transformation.”
According to the director, the strong turnout of tourists, families, and new audiences shows that expanding access to culture has a real impact and brings more people closer to the themes that help us envision the future.
That’s why, during the November holidays, the Museum of Tomorrow will also offer free admission! So, you can already plan to visit for free on All Souls’ Day (Nov. 2), Proclamation of the Republic Day (Nov. 15), and Black Awareness Day (Nov. 20).
