After a successful run in São Paulo, the musical “Festa no Arraial” arrives in Rio de Janeiro for a short run!

The play is inspired by the classic “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
The musical comedy “Festa na Arraial” transposes a William Shakespeare classic, written around 1595, into the world of the June festivals of Brazil’s Northeast.
Loosely inspired by “A Midsummer Night’s Dream, ” the show tells the story of Hermia and Lysander. Deeply in love, the two young people plan to get married on the big night of the festival.
However, unexpected forces—both human and enchanted—put their plans and feelings to the test. Amid bonfires, quadrilha dances, and forest creatures, the narrative blends romance, comedy, and fantasy, celebrating Brazilian popular culture.
“Festa no Arraial” opens at Gávea starting August 21
Vibrant, exciting, and entertaining, the show brings together 14 actors, singers, and musicians on stage.
Starring Claudia Ohana, Lorena Tucci, Cadu Libonati, and a stellar cast, the play invites the audience to immerse themselves in a world where love is put to the test, dreams find their voice, and magic can transform destinies.
The script is by Thereza Falcão and Mariana Mesquita, directed by Falcão, with musical direction by Marcelo Alonso Neves, and sets and costumes by Mauro Leite.
The show opens on August 21 and runs through September 27 at the Clara Nunes Theater. The play is suitable for all ages, and tickets range from R$ 25 to R$ 140, available at the theater box office and through the official ticketing website .
