One of Rio de Janeiro’s best-known vegan fairs is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a special edition. This weekend, the VegBorá Fair will celebrate its first decade with plenty of delicious treats, music, and a charity initiative at Fundição Progresso in Lapa. We’ve got more details here!
100% plant-based cuisine and more attractions at the 10th anniversary of the VegBorá Fair
For this anniversary edition, the event will bring together more than 40 brands from small local producers, DJs, a campaign to adopt rescued animals, tributes to key figures in Rio’s vegan movement, and a charity initiative in support of the Santuário das Fadas.
Thus, throughout the day, the public will be able to explore a wide variety of exhibitors dedicated to conscious consumption and the creative economy.
The fair offers 100% plant-based food options, including pizzas, burgers, savory snacks, full meals, sweets, cakes, ice cream, breads, plant-based cheeses, juices, and craft beers. Also featured will be brands offering natural cosmetics, sustainable fashion, handicrafts, home decor, and a bazaar with products made by animal shelters.
The commemorative edition will also have a charitable focus
As part of the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the Veg Borá Fair, visitors will also be able to participate in an adoption campaign for rescued animals.
In addition, a tribute is planned for individuals who have contributed to strengthening the vegan movement in Rio de Janeiro. The ceremony will be attended by Ricardo Laurino, vice president of the Brazilian Vegetarian Society, one of the leading organizations dedicated to promoting vegetarianism and veganism in the country.
The commemorative edition will also have a charitable focus. All proceeds from the sale of the themed anniversary eco-cups will be donated to Santuário das Fadas, an organization dedicated torescuing and caring for animals.
The VegBorá Fair takes place on August 16, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., at Fundição Progresso. Admission is free!
