After a six-year break, it’s back! The Agricultural and Livestock Exhibition, also known as Expo Petrópolis, returns to the city this year and promises to shake up the mountain region. Check out more details!
The event was last held in 2019
The festival is already very famous in the mountain region and nearby towns and has been for many years. However, with the pandemic and the necessary restrictions, the last edition of Expo Petrópolis took place in 2019.
On that occasion, the event brought together more than 200,000 people, with concerts by various artists – including Thiaguinho, Alok and Ivete Sangalo – as well as an exhibition, a horse championship, a small farm, a gastronomic area and an amusement park.
Expo Petrópolis brings concerts by local artists and more attractions
Although it is not yet known what this year’s program will be, the next Expo Petrópolis already has a date. The festival will take place between May 1st and 4th, at the Prefeito Paulo Rattes Municipal Park, in Itaipava.
According to Rodrigo Paiva, an events producer, “the return of Expo Petrópolis, in a new format, is very exciting for the city’s events and entertainment sector”.
This is because, according to the producer, as well as generating and promoting jobs in the region, the event also attracts many tourists and provides leisure for Petropolitans.
Another difference is that Expo Petrópolis also favors its local artists. In previous editions, for example, the Orquestra Ação Social Pela Música, Joãozinho do Cavaco e Família, the band Hover and the Tribo de Gonzaga have performed .
In addition, in 2019, around 30 producers from five of the city’s associations exhibited and sold products from the region. These included fresh vegetables, jams, jellies and liqueurs produced in the city by family agribusinesses.
Information about the musical attractions, what’s new in this edition and ticket sales will be published soon on the event’s official social networks.
