From September 16 to 27, a harp festival will take over downtown Rio. And it will feature a very different vibe from the traditional repertoire! That’s because, in this edition, the RioHarpFestival has added a Latin American edition, bringing together musicians from Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and other countries for free concerts throughout the city. Learn more!
The festival is part of the Rio Art Week program

The RioHarpFestival is one of the most important international festivals dedicated to the harp. However, in its 21st edition, the event introduces new features and launches a new phase: a Latin American edition .
This new phase is part not only of the city’s music program but also of the 1st Rio de Janeiro Art Week, which, from September 16 to 27, will fill museums, theaters, and public spaces with dozens of attractions and festivals.
In total, the RioHarpFestival will feature 23 free concerts with harpists and groups from Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Venezuela, Chile, and Uruguay, among other guests.
The opening marks the return of concerts at the National Museum of Fine Arts

The RioHarpFestival is part of the “Music at the Museum ” international series, and one of the highlights of this edition is the opening ceremony at the National Museum of Fine Arts (MNBA).
That’s because it was at the MNBA in 1997 that the “Music at the Museum” project was born, conceived by cultural producer Sérgio da Costa e Silva.
Nearly three decades later, the project returns to its original venue, which is undergoing a process of revitalization and gradual reopening.
In addition, it also marks the return of “Music at the Museum” at the MNBA, with monthly performances, always on the second Tuesday of each month.
