Anyone passing through Uruguaiana/Centro station should not miss the exhibition “Women and People” by artist Gaby Alves. This is because the photographic exhibition pays tribute to important Brazilian female personalities and will be on display for free until April 20. Find out more about the project!

The exhibition started in March to celebrate Women’s Month, but there’s still time to check out this free show, on display at Uruguaiana/Centro station until April 20.
The show features works by artist Gaby Alves, curated by Vera Simões. With an attentive and sensitive eye, the artist mixes embroidery and photography in 13 images. In all of them, Gaby captures the essence of feminine power and portrays the universe of women in the purest possible way.
And do you know who you’ll meet in this photographic series? Great Brazilian personalities who have marked the country’s history, such as actress Fernanda Torres, winner of the Golden Globe and nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress in the film “Ainda Estou Aqui”.
There’s also actress Fernanda Montenegro, journalist Glória Maria, writer Carolina de Jesus, among other women!
Women and People” exhibition runs until April in the subway
The good thing about Rio de Janeiro is exactly that: there’s art everywhere in the city! Including in the subway station!
So it’s worth dropping into Uruguaiana/Centro station to check out this free exhibition. You can find the photos by walking towards the D access corridor, in the direction of Presidente Vargas.
The exhibition runs until April 20, from Monday to Saturday, from 5am to midnight. And also on Sundays, from 7am to 11pm.
