Event features wines from eleven Uruguayan wineries
The Uruguay Wine Tour is produced by Wine Locals, a wine tourism platform that has sold more than 100,000 wine experiences in the country since 2020.
For this edition in Rio de Janeiro, the event brings together wines from eleven Uruguayan wineries. They are: Antigua Bodega, Bodega Garzón, Bodega De Lucca, Bodega Cerro Chapeu, Familia Deicas, Marichal, Pablo Fallabrino, Pisano, Spinoglio, Vermut Flores, and Viña Progreso.
And each participating restaurant will feature at least four of these wineries on its wine list, with white varieties such as Albariño, Chardonnay, and Viognier, and reds such as Tannat, Cabernet Franc, and Barbera.
How it works at each restaurant
The tour arrives in Rio de Janeiro with events at three venues: Skylab in Copacabana, and Rocco and Churrasqueira, both in Ipanema.
The offer varies by location. At Rocco, for example, purchasing a participating dish entitles you to a complimentary glass of wine from Pisano, Familia Deicas, Viña Progreso, Antigua Bodega, or Spinoglio.
At the other restaurants, the experiences follow their own formats, as defined by each establishment.
In addition, the Uruguay Wine Tour does not require an admission fee, and attendees pay only for what they consume at each restaurant. Depending on the establishment, reservations may be required, so be sure to check the schedule on the event’s official website.
The Uruguay Wine Tour visits three Brazilian states
The event debuted in São Paulo earlier this month and arrives in Rio de Janeiro starting August 13.
The tour will then continue to Santa Catarina starting August 20 , concluding the program on September 12 across all states.
