Glória Maria Park, located in the Santa Teresa neighborhood, will host thetraditional São João festival on the first weekend of June, June 6 and 7.
There, the public will enjoy plenty of regional music, as well as various dining options and cultural attractions!
Local cuisine and themed menus
At São João de Santa, neighborhood restaurants and bars will offer dishes prepared by chefs at the food stalls scattered throughout the event.
This way, visitors will be able to try famous dishes, such as the German hot dog from Adega do Pimenta and the dumplings from Bar do Mineiro. In addition, the menu will feature everything fromsoups to Portuguese sweets, and drinks made with artisanal cachaça to get the crowd going!
The neighborhood streets will also be in the June festival spirit. Restaurants like Aprazível, Armazém São Joaquim, and Mandala Residência Gastronômica will feature exclusive menus throughout the entire weekend!
The cultural program and concerts at São João de Santa
Over the two days, plenty of music and live performances will liven up the June festival in Santa Teresa.
On Saturday, Parque Glória Maria will host performances by Trio Flor de Carua, Carol Panesi, and Bumba Meu Boi Encantado de Santa Teresa.
On Sunday, there will be performances by Carimbaby, Kaburé, and Côco da Cacá, with a closing musical performance by Grupo Curacanga.
It’s also worth noting that museums, shops, studios, and galleries will be open to welcome visitors and celebrate the festive season!
Workshops and games for the kids!
At São João de Santa, fun is guaranteed for children, with creative workshops and classic games. Children’s activities will take place at specific times, featuring options for making crafts and playing traditional games.
In addition, traditional games like fishing and the clown’s mouth are a must, and all proceeds from the games will be used specifically to purchase food baskets for those assisted by the Santa Teresa de Jesus Parish.
