The Mamma Mia! Festival debuts in Rio de Janeiro, bringing a taste of Italian culture and cuisine to Barra da Tijuca. Admission is free, and the event features traditional cuisine, live music, dance, and cultural activities throughout the three-day program. We’ll share more details here!
A culinary tour of Italy without leaving Rio
The Mamma Mia! Festival features more than 25 exhibitors, who will fill the venue with artisanal pasta, slow-rising pizzas, risottos, gnocchi, lasagna, focaccia, burrata, and specialty cheeses.
Traditional desserts will also be on hand, such as cannoli, tiramisu, panna cotta, and artisanal gelato.
As for drinks, the selection includes Italian wines from different regions, sparkling wines, and classic cocktails like Aperol Spritz, Negroni, Bellini, and Limoncello Spritz, as well as craft beers.

The cultural program of the Mamma Mia! Festival was designed to go beyond the dining table.
The Nostra Famiglia Italian Dance Group will perform on Saturday and Sunday with the traditional Tarantella and the Pisa da Uva. In this interactive attraction, the audience participates in one of the most symbolic celebrations of Italian wine culture!
The music will span different genres over the three days. On Friday, Francesca Lo Cicero will perform Italian classics, and Banda Chilli will take the stage with Brazilian and international pop rock.
On Saturday, the Delanno show pays tribute to Eros Ramazzotti, followed by Mais do Mesmo, with a tribute to Legião Urbana. On Sunday, El Miraculoso SambaJazz blends Italian instrumental music with samba jazz, and the Cine Hits show closes out the event with soundtracks from great classics of world cinema!
The festival also features a kids’ area, children’s workshops, and an inflatable playground. The Mamma Mia! Festival takes place August 14–16 at Uptown Barra. Admission is free!
