Real Gabinete Português de Leitura
Starting with one of the most beautiful libraries in the world! The Real Gabinete Português de Leitura (Royal Portuguese Reading Office ) is a historical heritage site and enchants with its architecture, details and collection of Lusophone books.
In addition, the library is free to visit and it is also possible to consult the books. However, in this case, prior booking is required .

State Park Library
Also in the center, this library was founded by Dom Pedro II in 1873 and, at the time, was known as the Public Library of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
In 2010, it was completely renovated and reopened four years later as the State Park Library. The space has a vast collection, as well as an auditorium, theater, children’s library and more. It is also totally inclusive, with full accessibility for people with disabilities.

National Library
Did you know that this library is the largest in Latin America? That’s because it has more than 10 billion items, including rare books and published manuscripts brought by the Royal Family!
Admission is free and visitors can appreciate all the architecture, halls, works and exhibitions that take place there. It’s also well worth taking a guided tour to learn about some of the curiosities and relics.

CRAB Media Library
The CRAB is a cultural center that needs to be on your list of places to visit. But do you know why it’s also on this list of libraries in Rio de Janeiro?
