The exhibition “Não Somos Mula” is the result of photographer Rogério Reis’s years of daily walks along Rio’s beaches.
Instead of focusing directly on people in action, he turned his attention to the ingenious structures created by beach workers to organize and transport their equipment.
Thus, coolers, chairs, beach umbrellas, carts, and poles transcend their practical function and take on an artistic dimension, as if they were sculptures and installations.
As a result, the exhibition focuses on the inventive solutions of these professionals, sparking a profound reflection on work, autonomy, ingenuity, and landscape.
The exhibition brings together approximately 120 photographs, including prints and projections, most of which are being shown for the first time.
The “Não Somos Mula” exhibition runs through the end of August
