Rio de Janeiro breathes culture, and literary festivals are already part of the state’s calendar. Thus, Duque de Caxias’s first literary festival is launched with the goal of integrating the city into the circuit of major Brazilian festivals.
And FLIDUC promises plenty of experiences and encounters! Over four days, the Oscar Niemeyer Cultural Center will celebrate literature in various formats, utilizing the city’s main cultural venues. These include: Praça do Pacificador, the Raul Cortez Theater, and the Governador Leonel de Moura Brizola Municipal Library.
The program includes panel discussions, conferences, roundtable talks, workshops, children’s activities, artistic performances, book signings, exhibitions, literary gatherings, performances, a book fair, and experiences aimed at fostering new readers.

In addition to welcoming visitors, the event will also feature writers, independent authors, publishers, artists, illustrators, storytellers, educators, researchers, students, and public officials.
And some names have already been confirmed for this major festival! Historian and researcher Luiz Antonio Simas will participate in a roundtable discussion on samba and popular culture alongside Louiz Carlos da Silva and Leonardo Bruno.
