It’s already Christmas in Rio de Janeiro and, above all, in the shopping centers of the Marvelous City! That’s because several establishments have already started the Christmas season and others are about to begin, with lots of glitter, magic and Santa Claus! Here we’ve put together some of the best attractions for you to visit with the family!
Trip to the Magic Christmas Village
The giant Christmas tree at Barra Shopping has already become a symbol in Rio de Janeiro. But did you know that, in addition to its enormous size (75 meters!), the tree also has an interactive activation at its base?
This year, following the theme ‘Journey to the Magical Christmas Village’, the tree has four themed environments: Enchanted Pines Trail, Enchanted Toy Factory, Magical Bells Trail and Santa’s House.
The inside of BarraShopping is also decorated for Christmas! There’s a Ferris wheel, interactive toys and Santa’s House, where Santa will be present for photos and special meetings until December 24.

Brilho de Natal – Once upon a time in the snow
Also in Barra, Shopping Uptown brought snow to Rio de Janeiro, with a show, interactive globe and giant doll. Not to mention Santa’s Throne in a chalet inspired by the mountain region for free photos with the Good Old Man!
Also noteworthy is the illuminated curtain between the attractions, which was a big hit last year, and now comes in a different design with hot and cold lights !

Christmas at Nova América
This year, Shopping Nova América celebrates its 30th anniversary. To celebrate both dates, it has combined the essence of Rio’s suburbs with traditional Christmas elements in its decorations and special seasonal program.
Among the references will be the little bricks inspired by the façade of the old textile factory, which used to operate where the mall is today, and kites, symbols of the suburb.
To add to the Christmas vibe, lights on the mall’s marquees and in cascades covering Rua do Rio will impact all visitors, especially at night.
The decoration also includes an illuminated tunnel, a seven-meter Christmas tree and Instagrammable spaces, such as a sleigh, and free climbing toys and a cat bed for the kids!

Noel’s Enchanted Kingdom
NorteShopping ‘s Christmas theme this year is full of enchantment and magic: “Noel’s Enchanted Kingdom”.
The decoration includes a setting inspired by a lot of magic and dreams, without giving up the classic colors of gold, red, green and white. It is distributed both inside and on the façade, with golden lights with star designs.
In addition, the traditional “Enchanted Tree”, more than 10 meters tall, will house “Santa’s Office”. The space is reserved for the little ones to write a letter to Santa.
The space also has several free children’s attractions, such as the “Swing of Dreams”, adapted for people with disabilities; “Embalo do Noel”, a youth swing, and “Desliz Mágico”, a slide with a little train.

Shopping Boulevard Christmas
With its classic decorations, full of lights and the traditional giant tree in the center of the mall, Boulevard has already opened its doors to the magic of Christmas!
The mall, renowned for its architectural beauty, will impress even more with arches of lights on the roof of the entire Boulevard Balcony, causing a feeling of immersion in the festive atmosphere.
Outside, the entrances will be lit up, decorating the corner of the neighborhood.

A Christmas of Encounters
Santa Claus has also arrived at Shopping Nova Iguaçu, marking the official start of the development’s Christmas program.
This year, the theme of the season is “A Christmas of Encounters”, which celebrates the good times and the opportunities to share the best of Christmas: love, encounters, good laughs and solidarity!

Botafogo Praia Shopping
Botafogo Praia Shopping surprised Cariocas with the Christmas concept ‘Art of Living Rio’. A tribute to the Marvelous City, its bossa and the view that enchants residents and visitors alike.
Inspired by the idea that Rio is a living painting, the decoration invites everyone to immerse themselves in a poetic narrative, where the Christmas spirit blends with the city’s charms.

RIOSUL Shopping Center has prepared an unforgettable Christmas that promises to enchant everyone with a program full of emotion and experiences.
The season brings the magical atmosphere of the holidays to the mall, with themed decorations, Santa’s parade, children’s workshops and Christmas parades.
Among the novelties, the Santa’s Factory Simulator promises to entertain and involve children and adults in an immersive journey through the magical universe of Christmas. The opening will be on November 15th!
