The Dicró Cultural Arena has a 14-year history, and the cultural space will celebrate the occasion in grand style! The celebration takes place from June 12 to 14, with a lively program, including a June festival, samba circles, art exhibitions, and various activities focused on the local community.

The celebration will last three days, starting this Friday, June 12. On this day, children’s activities at Cemasi Rua Taperoá—including storytelling, workshops, and recreational games—will extend the Arena’s anniversary beyond its walls and strengthen the venue’s connection to the local community.
On Saturday (the 13th), the Arena will host a program that connects culture, the local area, and sustainability. Thus , the public will be able to participate in urban agroecology practices and explore a market featuring local entrepreneurs. Additionally, the group Canjas do Boteco will lead the samba circle, while the Arte Transformadora project will present capoeira demonstrations .
Saturday’s schedule also marks the opening of the exhibition “Fé na festa e Leopoldina em festa, ” held in partnership with Casa Fluminense and curated by visual artist DABG (Bruna Gomes). The exhibition offers a look at popular celebrations and the artistic and cultural vitality of Rio’s suburbs.

To wrap up the festivities, the venue will transform into a huge festival on Sunday, the 14th. The lineup promises plenty of fun, with performances by traditional quadrilha dance groups, lots of forró, and DJs during the breaks!
And since every birthday has cake, the party ends with slices of cake being handed out to everyone who comes to celebrate!
