Rio Restaurant Week
The 27th edition of Rio Restaurant Week starts in May, but you have until June 23 to try a special lunch or dinner menu (or both!) at a fixed price for each meal.
In this edition, more than 50 participating restaurants are embracing the theme “Vegetarian Revolution” with flavors and delicious combinations that are far removed from meat of animal origin. Some of the establishments at the event are: Açougue Vegano, Allma, Cantinho do Pará, Tragga, Vino and Zazá Bistrô.
June festivals
Not sure what to do in Rio in June? Then get ready for the June festivities, which are spread throughout the city. From the North Zone to the South Zone, you can bet there’s a bonfire, quentão, corn, dancing and typical costumes going on.
That’s why our tip is to enjoy the quermesses and neighborhood parties, which always provide great memories, but it’s worth keeping an eye on the schedule of the most popular parties in Rio de Janeiro. There’s something for everyone!
Candlelight Concerts
June, Valentine’s Day, a candlelight concert… what better combination than that?
Well, the Candlelight concert program is unmissable this month, with musical options for all tastes! Choose your favorite concert!
Candlelight: Tributo a Coldplay
Candlelight: Coldplay x Imagine Dragons
Disney On Ice: Embark on the Magic
Disney’s most famous stories told in an ice show! Disney On Ice is coming to town this month and promises to enchant audiences with performances full of magic.
So get ready to enjoy Moana, Frozen, Viva! Life is a Party, Beauty and the Beast, Tangled and much more in a very different way. The performances take place at Maracanãzinho, from June 19 to 23!
Language
How can you create a bilingual theater show (in Portuguese and Libras) that doesn’t make the condition of deafness the central theme of the story? This is just one of the challenges of “Língua”, which opens on June 6 at Sesc Copacabana.
The play takes place during a birthday celebration and shows the relationships developed by a deaf taxi driver. Thus, the desire to say something and the impossibility of being understood, no matter in what language, are the central issues of the story.
Every Night
The exhibition ‘Toda Noite’ features a series of works celebrating 33 years of artistic activity by photographer, essayist and curator Vicente de Mello.
For this show, the public can expect “a night that repeats itself indefinitely”, with the most diverse shades of chiaroscuro, produced with various photographic techniques. The exhibition runs until June 30 at the Federal Justice Cultural Center ( CCJF ).
Casa Warner
For the first time in Rio de Janeiro, Casa Warner already has a date and place: it will take place from June 14, at Shopping Nova América, in Del Castilho.
The experience gives fans the chance to immerse themselves in their favorite series, films and characters, with interactive sets and more! In addition, the highlight of this edition is the special tribute to Batman, celebrating the legacy of this iconic character who celebrates his 85th birthday this year.
Yvy Marãey – The Land Without Evil
On the other side of the bridge, a very cool and important exhibition is also taking place at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Niterói.
Starting this month, the MAC will host the exhibition ‘Yvy Marãey – A Terra Sem Males’ (Yvy Marãey – The Land Without Evil), an unprecedented series that delves into the ancestral roots of the Guarani people, through the lens of photographer Daniel Sul. In addition, the Mata Verde Bonita Village, located in Maricá, is the setting and inspiration for the creation of the exhibition. Oh, and on Wednesdays it’s free to visit!
So, did you enjoy the program? Have you decided what to do in Rio in June?
