It’s been two years of waiting, but it’s back! This weekend, the Santa Teresa neighborhood is hosting the 23rd edition of the Vegannezando Festival, the main vegan fair in the state of Rio de Janeiro, now in a new format. The event is free, outdoors and with a program full of great attractions. Check it out!
Festival returns to the place where the fair originated
The traditional vegan fair has paused its activities to resume capitalizing on its exhibitors’ funds. So, after two years, the event is back, but in a new version.
The fair is now called Vegannezando Festival and will return to the traditional Parque Glória Maria (formerly Parque das Ruínas), the place where the fair originated.
In addition, the festival will take place on Mother’s Day weekend, expanding the proposal for family leisure and vegan cultural tourism.
Gastronomy, fashion and more 100% vegan options at the festival
There will be two days of culture and the expectation is to gather between 3 and 4 thousand people during this period, attracting both the carioca public and tourists who visit the charming neighborhood during the weekend.
It’s worth emphasizing that the Vegannezando Festival is curated to welcome different audiences. In other words, it is also a democratic environment because, despite being 100% vegan, 60% of its audience are non-vegans.
On the program, the public will find a variety of vegan cuisine – from Bahian food to raw food options – as well as fashion, cosmetics, accessories and handmade products.
NGOs such as Mangue & Tal, which will be exhibiting marine fossils and microplastics, will also be taking care of waste management during the festival with selective collection.
Among the musical attractions, names like Gabi Blue, Negadêza and Rala Côco, Trio Samburá, among others, are part of the party!
