Glória Maria Park, also known as the old Ruins Park, is hosting a July festival for the first time! It’s São João de Santa, with forró shows, typical cuisine, games and a whole host of other attractions throughout the historic district. Check out the program details!
Shows by local artists, children’s workshops and more at São João de Santa
São João de Santa aims to value Brazilian cultural manifestations. And this year it will take place for the first time in Parque Glória Maria, with a very varied program !
Among the highlights are the residents’ traditional quadrilha julina, performances aimed at children and forró shows with local artists who will liven up the festival!
For the kids, fun is guaranteed with the Alegria Alegria workshops, which use various materials to encourage curiosity, sensitivity and spontaneous expression.
In addition, typical games such as fishing and the clown’s mouth are not to be missed and all the proceeds from the games will be used specifically to buy food baskets for those assisted by the Santa Teresa de Jesus Parish.
Restaurants in the neighborhood will have stalls at the event and a special menu
You can’t have a St. John’s Festival without good food, can you? That’s why those attending the event will find several stalls from famous restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. It’s a great chance to try various dishes prepared by chefs in portions and at reduced prices.
What’s more, the festive atmosphere also extends to the streets of Santa Teresa, as the restaurants in the gastronomic center will be offering special dishes, musical attractions and themed ambiance, inviting locals and visitors to explore the neighborhood in an affective and tasty way !
