The Oscar Niemeyer Popular Theater is preparing to host the 1st Niterói Korean Culture Festival in August. K-World is free and promises a variety of attractions for fans of K-pop, K-dramas, cuisine, dance, and martial arts. We’ll give you more details below!
Music, food, cosplay, and more: what’s in store at K-World
K-World is the first festival of its kind in the city of Niterói and is organized by ACE – K-Pop Community, which is dedicated to promoting South Korean culture in Brazil.
Among the highlights of the program are panels on K-Dramas and the Korean alphabet (Hangul). For fans of Korean music and performance, the event has set up spaces for the ARMY and STAY fandoms, as well as a K-Cover contest and a themed cosplay contest.
In addition, traditional culture and sports will also have a strong presence. That’s because the festival will feature Taekwondo demonstrations, interactive workshops, and talks with experts on Korean culture.
And the fun doesn’t stop there! Attendees will have the chance to try out the latest products in the K-Beauty area and wear an authentic traditional hanbok. They’ll also be able to sing their hearts out at the noraebang (Korean karaoke) and take photos in themed studios and at a modern 360° photo booth.
Technology meets dance with virtual reality idol concerts, the highly anticipated performance by the group Huntrix, and lively Random Play Dance sessions .
Scavenger hunts, booths featuring Korean products, traditional cuisine, and appearances by South Korean cultural influencers round out the lineup in style.
