To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Gastro Beer Rio will hold a special edition on June 21 and 22 at the Jockey Club Brasileiro. The event, which is free to enter, will bring together breweries, gastronomy, shows and other attractions. Check out more details of the event!
Special edition is part of the Shopping Leblon Brazil Grand Prix Festival
Gastro Beer Rio is part of the attractions at the Grande Prêmio Brasil Shopping Leblon Festival, which is taking place this weekend.
For the first time, the event will occupy tribunes A, B and C of the Brazilian Jockey Club, with a variety of cuisine, special beers, wines, drinks and shows.
In addition, one of this year’s novelties is a special edition of the Circuito Moda Carioca, which brings together more than 30 brands of women’s, men’s, design, home, jewelry, bags and shoes produced in Rio.
Beers, wines and more options at Gastro Beer Rio
The ten-year celebration will be done in style, especially when it comes to food and drink.
That’s because those who go to the event in search of beer will find a variety of high-quality beverages. Among the breweries, PaKas will be bringing labels such as Brett Dark Sour, a collaboration with Indigo, aged in oak barrels.
Hocus Pocus will have the seasonal Flute Loop, a Belgian Ale, and Malteca, its Potter with Coffee, a gold medal winner at the last Mondial de la Bière. Brewers will also have award-winning labels from Denker, StraubelBeer and Arkan, among others.
For those who prefer wine, GRK Products ‘ red, white and rosé brands will be present, as will Vinoteca Rio and Portuguese labels from Casa Lima Santos.
The drinks – including the refreshing combination of cachaça and beer – will be made by Cachaça de Alambique Magnífica de Faria. The brand, which celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2025, values sustainable practices and will use its returnable bottles, reinforcing its commitment to the environment.
On the food side, there will be carne de sol from Coisas do Nordeste, crepes from Le Frenchie and Bom Profit, snacks from Belisque, pizzas from Super Pizza and sandwiches from Petit Pain.
Games and beer tour with an expert
If you’re new to the world of special beers, there will be a beer tour with Marcelo Neves, professor at SENAC/RJ and beverage professor at Le Cordon Bleu, sommelier and reporter for Inside Food Beer.
Each participant will receive an exclusive caldereta for tastings and there will be 15 free places per day, on a first-come, first-served basis. The event takes place once a day, at 2pm.
In addition, beer games will entertain the crowd from 2pm to 5pm. The public can set up teams for beer pong matches with the right to several exclusive gifts, such as beers and calderetas.
Program includes shows and special attractions for the family
And it’s not over! In this edition of Gastro Beer Rio, the band MrGroove will perform on Saturday with soul and samba rock. On Sunday, it will be singer Mary Jam ‘s turn with pop/rock. The performances always start at 8pm.
Mothers will also be able to enjoy guided tours of the event’s breweries by beer sommelière Mariana Christichini.
Finally, a large children’s area in Tribuna B will ensure that the kids are happy, with workshops, musical storytelling, sensory play and more attractions!
