The Cazuza Exagerado exhibition, on display at Shopping Leblon, recalls the most important passages in the musician’s life and career, in a sensory, emotional and intimate journey.
But these are the last weeks of the immersive experience in Rio de Janeiro. So if you haven’t been to see it yet, don’t miss your chance! Here we tell you a little about what you’ll find at the exhibition!

Cazuza’s legacy to Brazilian music and culture
It’s impossible to talk about Cazuza without remembering his legacy for Brazilian music and culture. An icon of the 1980s, he began his musical career in 1982 as lead singer of the rock band Barão Vermelho, together with Roberto Frejat, Dé Palmeira, Guto Goffi and Maurício Barros.
A few years later, as a solo artist, he released some of his biggest hits, including Exagerado, Ideologia and O Tempo Não Para.
When he was diagnosed with HIV in 1987, Cazuza also faced the prejudice and stigma of the disease and became a symbol of the fight against AIDS in Brazil. The artist died in July 1990, at the age of 32.
That’s why the Cazuza Exagerado exhibition is a must-see! This is because it recalls not only his musical career, but also his epoch-making social and political engagement.
It also celebrates the relevance of his legacy, whose influence resonates strongly to this day!

What’s in the Cazuza Exagerado exhibition: unseen images, behind-the-scenes and much more!
In order to immerse the public in the universe of this important artist, the exhibition on Cazuza has been divided into nine themed rooms.
Thus, in the first room, the public dives into Cazuza’s life before fame, when he was known as Agenor and/or Caju by friends and family.
The next three rooms recall the singer’s musical career, from the days of Barão Vermelho to the hits of his solo career.
