Cinema and popcorn go together, don’t they? Can you imagine going to the cinema with your bucket (or container of choice) and putting up to 10 liters of popcorn in it to watch a movie? Well, Cinemark’s ‘Bring Your Bucket’ action has exactly this proposal and will take place this Sunday in some of the chain’s cinemas – including those in Rio de Janeiro. Find out more!
Bring Your Bucket’ event celebrates National Popcorn Day
The idea is this: celebrate National Popcorn Day (11/03) in style! As such, the Cinemark chain of cinemas will be holding an unprecedented event this weekend and distributing up to 10 liters of popcorn for R$ 19.
To take part, just bring a container of your choice. It could be that iconic collectible bucket from a specific film, or the favorite popcorn bucket that has been in the family for generations, or even a super original and unprecedented container in the best do-it-yourself style.
In the United States, a similar action was a hit with the public, with hundreds of people bringing the most diverse containers to fill up with the snack. Here, it’s the first time the chain has run a promotion in this style.
Check out the rules for taking part and eating LOTS of popcorn!
The ‘Bring Your Bucket’ event takes place this Sunday, March 16, at Cinemark cinemas all over Brazil, including those in Rio de Janeiro.
However, you need to follow a few rules to take part and secure your bucket of popcorn. Firstly, the container must be sanitized, waterproof (in case you want butter on the popcorn) and suitable for food consumption. So you’re free to bring buckets, pots, bowls… whatever your creativity dictates!
It is also important to know that refills will not be offered. In other words, if the customer brings a “bucket” smaller than 10 liters, which is equivalent to 2 buckets of Cinemark popcorn, it will only be filled to capacity. Oh, and it only applies to salted popcorn, ok?
Finally, cinemas with a prime snack bar do not participate – here in Rio, in this case, the Village Mall does not. You can find more information on Cinemark’s official website and social networks!
