A traditional bar and samba venue in Lapa, in downtown Rio de Janeiro, Beco do Rato is celebrating its 22nd anniversary. And it’s going to celebrate with what it does best: a mega samba festival, featuring 14 hours of non-stop music across two stages with a variety of acts. We’ll tell you all about the Beco do Rato Festival here!
The Beco do Rato Festival brings together artists and bands that perform at the venue

The Beco do Rato Festival has become a staple on the city’s cultural calendar and brings even more visibility to the genre’s culture.
With two stages and 14 hours of non-stop music, the event will bring together artists and bands that perform at Beco, celebrating not only the city’s samba circles but also other established samba artists.
Thus, there are various attractions to suit all tastes. One of them is the show by Jorge Aragão, a master of samba in full swing. Also present will be two of the most important composers of Brazilian popular music, Marquinho Sathan and Serginho Meriti.
And part of this big party are Délcio Luiz, Arlindinho, Encontro Casuais—with Mosquito and Inácio Rios, Galocantô, Grupo Arruda, Joana Nascimento, Terreiro de Crioulo, and Banda do Beco
In addition, the festival also focuses on the talents of the new generation. That’s why Marina Íris, Vinny Santa Fé, Caffé, Fernando Procópio, Hugo Ojuara, and the projects Aos Novos Compositores and Samba da Volta are all confirmed on the lineup.
During the breaks, DJ Julio EleMesmo takes the reins.
Participating bars join the party with food stalls and snacks

In addition to the musical lineup, the Beco do Rato Festival features a top-notch food court. That’s because eight bars from Rio de Janeiro will bring their dishes and snacks to satisfy the crowd’s hunger between samba sets.
Among them are Bar Os Imortais, Brewteco, Bufalos Burguer, Caldos da Andrea (Di Crioula), Zilda, Churrasco Cadico, and Pão de Alho do Kiki.
The event takes place this Saturday, April 18, at Cidade do Samba, starting at 1 p.m.!
Ticket prices start at R$ 45 (general admission), but you can purchase the Open Beer Area starting at R$ 230 (3rd batch). In this area, you get exclusive access and a prime location (in front of the stage), plus unlimited beer, water, and soda!
