So here’s a tip for you to enjoy the Baixada Fluminense Literary Festival, which is taking place this weekend in Nilópolis. Find out more about the event!
Literary Festival takes place at Gericinó Park in Nilópolis
With the aim of promoting and democratizing culture, the FLIB will take place in a very special place in Nilópolis.
It’s the Farid Abrão Natural Park, also known as Gericinó Park, which lies between the Sarapuí and Pavuna rivers. As well as being an environmental protection area, the park is also part of the Atlantic Forest biome and is the largest reforestation site in the history of Nilópolis.
So it’s in this great green space that the Baixada Fluminense Literary Festival will take place this weekend, from March 28 to 30, starting at 9am. And it’s totally free!

And what can we expect from FLIB? The festival promises to excite residents and visitors to the region, with lots of cultural attractions, concerts, debates, a book fair and more!
On Friday, the public will be able to enjoy a lecture on sustainability, a theatrical performance of The Lion King and a concert by Alex Cohen. The following day, on Saturday, the program is packed with talks on food, a dance show with Carlinhos de Jesus and a concert by the band Araketu.
To end the event on a high note, Sunday brings debates on climate issues and the importance of native peoples in raising awareness and preserving nature, as well as talks on the literary production of youth from the peripheries and communities.
What’s more, there will be cultural presentations, dance performances and a show by Mundo Bita to keep the kids entertained!
